Oklahomans can avoid letting a grinch ruin this holiday season, thanks to a gift from AARP.

“Twelve Days of Holiday Scams,” a series of videos produced by AARP volunteer Fraud Fighters, are being posted one per day on Facebook, Dec. 1-12. Each video draws attention to a different scam. AARP Oklahoma and the state Office of Attorney General are promoting the series, which will remain online all month.

Many con artists target the holiday season because it’s a time when people may be more generous and less scrupulous about choosing charities. Besides bogus fundraising, scammers peddle counterfeit merchandise as holiday gifts.
