Oklahomans can find out what it takes to start a business at age 50-plus at Encore Entrepreneur events in Tulsa and Durant this month. Experts will explain how to write a business plan and seek start-up capital.
Caregiving may be one of the most important roles you will ever take on in your life. You may have become a caregiver suddenly or perhaps your role has evolved over time. No matter where you are in the continuum of caregiving- starting to plan, helping to coordinate a big move, or take care of a family member in your home- having resources at your fingertips will make the process easier.
More than 520,000 Oklahomans care for older parents, spouses or other loved ones, helping them to live independently in their own homes. These family caregivers have a huge responsibility, and now a new law will make life a little bit easier for them. The CARE (Caregiver Advise, Record, Enable) Act helps family caregivers when their loved ones go into the hospital and as they transition home.
There are plenty of reputable contests and sweepstakes out there (including some from AARP). But there are also a lot of bad players looking to bilk you out of your money.
The AARP Fraud Watch Network successfully brought fraud-fighting efforts to Oklahomans across the state with three, free Operation Stop Scams events in Oklahoma City, Shawnee and Tulsa in April. Operation Stop Scams free shredding events allowed 495 Oklahomans to safely shred nearly 30,000 pounds of sensitive documents.
AARP OK, REI Oklahoma and the Small Business Administration are offering three, free Encore Entrepreneur events during May and June. Sign up today so you can get help from experts and resources to move your small business ideas forward. These Encore Entrepreneur events are specifically designed for those age 50 and older who want to start or grow a small business or make an established one more successful.
