ReServe Maryland Working to Strengthen Communities

Inner Harbor

ReServe Maryland is helping continuing professionals age 55+ reinvest a career's worth of skills to strengthen their communities.  ReServe Maryland connects the state’s nonprofits and public institutions (partners) to experienced professionals 55+ (ReServists) who want to give back. In exchange for a stipend paid by the partner organization, ReServists in Maryland work in a variety of capacities – from infrastructure to direct service – to help organizations stay on mission. ReServe Maryland supports its partners in building a stronger and more vibrant Maryland.

Launched in February 2012, ReServe Maryland is a service program operated the Social Work Community Outreach Service (SWCOS) at the University of Maryland School of Social Work. Since 1992, SWCOS has been a recognized leader in the use of Community-University partnerships to create and implement innovative models of social work education and practice which address pressing community issues in Baltimore and Maryland.  SWCOS has three distinctive areas of focus, which includes innovations with individuals & families, innovations in community building, and innovations in organizational development.

ReServe Maryland is generously funded by Robert W. Deutsch Foundation, The Fund for Change, The Zanvyl and Isabelle Krieger Fund, and the United Way of Central Maryland.  C heck out their website for more information!
