AARP Connecticut – the largest nonprofit, nonpartisan advocacy organization in the state with nearly 600,000 members – announces the appointment of Stratford resident John Wilson as its new Volunteer State President.
With the primary election coming up on Tuesday, May 14, AARP West Virginia is urging residents to visit the secretary of state’s website (govotewv.com) to check their registration status and find other election resources.
Soaring housing costs are worsening the crisis in Colorado. Most older residents want to stay in their homes, and 83 percent of Coloradans age 45-plus said being able to afford their home was an extremely or very important issue, a 2022 AARP survey shows. Legislators have failed to find a long-term approach to cutting or capping property taxes, and solutions to the crisis will be a focus of the legislative session beginning Jan. 10.
AARP Hawai‘i will focus legislative efforts this year on mitigating the disproportionate risks faced by older adults during public emergencies. The Legislature opens this month.
