Self-Service Tools on the Volunteer Portal!

One of the features of the New Volunteer Portal is that volunteers can now update your own contact and demographic information shown on your volunteer record. It’s important to keep our volunteer records up-to-date, and having these self-service features to update a mailing address or phone number helps us stay connected with you.

Equally important to AARP is our ability to track demographic information about our volunteers, so that we can monitor and strengthen our efforts to have a diverse volunteer team. Additionally, we need to be able to periodically offer overall statistics related to the gender, age and ethnicity of our volunteers. All of AARP’s volunteers are encouraged to use the self-service feature in the Portal to update the demographic data fields.

Below are several screen shots from a volunteer record within the New Volunteer Portal as well as a link to click on for larger versions of those images. The only field that should not be updated by a volunteer is your email; instead, please contact your state office partner or the Office of Volunteer Engagement (OVE) at volunteer@aarp.org or 866-740-7719.

Please take a moment to review your volunteer record and help us learn more about your interests and skills. If you need help logging onto the Portal, contact your state office of OVE’s volunteer help line: 866-740-7719. We want you to take full advantage of all of the resources that are stored on the Portal!
