AARP Eye Center

April is National Volunteer Month, and we want to celebrate our incredible volunteers by introducing them to you! We’ll be posting profiles of some remarkable people a few days a week, introducing you to volunteers throughout Texas. Some of these folks were nominated for the Andrus Award for Community Service, which celebrates the excellent work they are doing to make a difference in their local communities. Others work in AARP programs like Tax-Aide and Driver Safety, while still others donate their time to local chapters and communities, churches and civic organizations throughout Texas. The common ingredient? They’re all volunteers working to make a difference in the lives of Texans, and especially Texans 50+.
AARP Texas has more than 250 active volunteers, as well as approximately 330 Driver Safety Volunteers and 2,100 Tax Aide volunteers. Our heartfelt thanks and appreciation goes out to each and every one of them this Volunteer month. Here’s to you, volunteers!
