Tea for a Princess in the Queen City

Print

Cap off a visit to “Diana, a Celebration,” an exhibit at the Cincinnati Museum Center, in true British fashion—with a special tea fit for royalty. AARP members can enjoy discounted tickets to a pre-Mother’s Day afternoon tea at the museum on Sunday, May 4.

The exhibit, which runs in Cincinnati until Aug. 17, chronicles the life of Diana, Princess of Wales. It features 150 objects, including Diana’s wedding gown, designer dresses, diamond tiaras, family heirlooms, paintings and personal photos. The exhibit has toured the world since 2003, and Cincinnati is the final stop.

Special AARP tickets to the tea ($45 for ages 13 and up, $35 for ages 5 to 12) include admission to the exhibit starting at 1:30 p.m., tea from 3 to 4:15 p.m., a special commemorative souvenir and free parking.

The tea, which will include sweets, tea sandwiches, scones, mousse cups and more, is not open to the public. Only AARP members and their guests will receive the discounted admission and souvenir.

To make a reservation for the tea, call the Cincinnati Museum Center at 513-287-7021 or 800-733-2077. AARP members who show a membership card at the box office can get a discount price of $19 (for up to four people) for daily admission to the exhibit through July 31. —Janice Brewster
