Meet Cinnamon Ann McKinney, new Business Operations Assistant for AARP Dallas

Cinnamon joined the Dallas team in March.

In early March, AARP Texas was excited to welcome Cinnamon Ann McKinney, their newest team member. As the Business Operations Assistant in the AARP Dallas office, Cinnamon will support the work of the Outreach and Advocacy staff by helping organize events, facilitate meetings, coordinate volunteers, and handle other administrative duties.

Cinnamon has worked as an AT&T Brand Experience/Events Manager and is skilled in community outreach, vendor negotiations, and budgeting. She is proficient in Cvent, Microsoft Office Suite, and Adobe applications. Supervisor of State Operations Bunny Brightman works with Cinnamon and notes, “She is a great match for the Dallas office. Dallas offers classes and events, plus they meet regularly with their volunteer team, so her skills and experience will be a big boost for a busy team.”

Cinnamon is eager for the challenge. “I'm ready to work with the Dallas team and use my skills to help serve the community, especially older adults," says Cinnamon. Originally from Chicago's southside, she has made Dallas her home for the past seven years. Cinnamon holds a Bachelor's Degree in Communications Studies from Augustana College.
