It only takes just a little to give back a lot to local families.

AARP Fredericksburg Chapter #3396 has been hard at work again, but this time volunteering for the 2018 AARP Virginia Community-Wide Food Drive.

Chapter members were joined by the Stafford County Sheriff's Office and friends on September 7th and September 8th. Pictured in front of the Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank van at the Giant on 35 Town and Country Drive from left to right are: Matthew Logan, Giant Assistant Manager, chapter members Mike D'Ostilio, Sally Cooney Anderson (Chapter President), Steve Scheibe, Marietta D'Ostilio (Chapter Food Drive Chairman), Kathleen Holler, Betty Lee Sprinkle, Mary Kofron, Juanita Channel, and Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank Food Drive and Volunteer Coordinator Carey Sealy. The group was joined by Stafford Deputy Heather Scanlon and Cadet Rodrick (McGruff), Cadet Estrada, and Cadet Froman.

They collected 3,500 pounds of food which equals $665.71 in monetary donations. Each dollar of the monetary donations equals two meals.
