Encore invites you to join us for our Fall season of singing to be held at multiple locations in Northern Virginia. Encore singers improve their voices, improve their health, meet new friends and enjoy a great new adventure singing challenging music in four parts in preparation to join other Encore Chorales for exciting community concerts. There are no auditions, new singers are welcome, and singers may be seated for rehearsals and performances.

AARP in Los Angeles is teaming up with West Angeles Community Development Corporation along with many other partners and businesses to share various educational resources. The event will have community partners highlighting tips around homeownership, opening and support for small businesses, health & wellness, social services and AARP will be there with caregiving resources. There will be live entertainment and helpful information for everyone. The event will be held on the back parking lot of the West Angeles Cathedral.

AARP Virginia and the Organization of Chinese American Women (OCAW) will host a special event featuring local author Veronica Li as she discusses her new book, Confucius Says; a novel about caring for elderly parents based on the author’s own experience. When the pressure of caregiving became overwhelming, she found guidance from an unexpected source: the teachings of the ancient sage Confucius. Enlightened by his wisdom, she finds the courage to go on.
