The holidays should be full of joy and cheer, but AARP Virginia warns that the season may be rife with scams.
-
While enjoying this holiday season it’s important to remember to take the time to give to the less fortunate members of the community; which is why AARP volunteers are giving back at this year’s Community Christmas Dinner. Starting at 11 a.m. in Christmas Day at the Community Market, located on 629 Craghead St. Danville, VA 24541, AARP will provide free resources on important topics including caregiving, fraud and housing while guests can enjoy a warm meal.

Winter is a difficult time for senior home-bound neighbors, some having to choose between heat and food. AARP Virginia and LOA want to help make their lives easier by ensuring their shelves are stocked with soups and other non-perishable food items. All it takes to make a difference is to start a collection then drop off the non-perishable items to a drop off site from February 6-10.
That’s why AARP brings neighbors together to join in on free activities and events, right where you live.
