AARP is hosting brain health seminars throughout Northern Virginia to explain how smart habits and social interaction can sharpen your mind. The community meetings will focus on five pillars of brain health: diet, regular exercise, social engagement, relaxation and learning new things.

AARP volunteers will lead group discussions about how to meet those goals.

Events are scheduled Wednesday, Dec. 20, 1-2 p.m., at Kings Park Library, 9000 Burke Lane Road, in Burke; Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2-3 p.m., at Central Community Library, 8601 Mathis Ave., in Manassas; and Saturday, Jan. 20, 11 a.m.-noon, at Reston Community Center, 2310 Colts Neck Rd., in Reston.

AARP volunteers will lead group discussions about how to meet those goals.
