The nation’s capital is electing a new mayor Nov. 4. What will that mean for Washingtonians age 50-plus?

To help voters find out, AARP DC has prepared a voters guide and is sponsoring a live mayoral forum Oct. 9, 2014.

The voters guide presents a side-by-side comparison of candidates’ views on issues affecting older District residents, such as financial security, caregiving, housing and an initiative to make Washington a more age-friendly city.

Two out of three registered D.C. voters cast votes in the 2012 general election. This year, early voting begins Oct. 20. To read the voters guide, go to aarp.org/yourvote. For location and time of the mayoral forum, check the events calendar at http://bit.ly/1Avcqzs.
