As the AARP DC Volunteer State President, I am proud to represent 68,000 AARP members in the District, and on behalf of them and all older District residents, we are advocating for a budget that honors their dignity and needs. For the District’s FY2026 budget, our message is clear: District seniors deserve their fair share of the pie.
Older workers are loyal, experienced and have a strong work ethic. But people over 50 may not have the job-seeking skills to nail that new opportunity.
There are eight volunteer-led AARP Chapters in the District, which offer health and wellness fairs, presentations on relevant topics, community service opportunities and fun outings. Find an AARP Chapter near you by searching here, and get involved!
Does your community group need a speaker for an upcoming event? AARP DC staff and volunteers can deliver presentations on a variety of topics, including fraud, caregiving and financial planning.
Update as of July 16, 2018: Thank you for your interest in this activity with AARP DC. We have reached the event capacity of 50 participants. You may still register for the waitlist, but we cannot guarantee that a spot will be available for your participation.
