For a second consecutive year, AARP DC was a sponsor for the 2016 Citi Open®. The nine-day event (July 16-24) took place at the Rock Creek Park Tennis Center. The free tennis clinic conducted by acclaimed tennis coach Wayne Bryan, was offered by the DC State Office. Bryan is the father of the Bryan brothers, the number two Men's Doubles champs.
Citi Open® is almost here with top players John Isner, Juan Martin Del Potro, Tomas Berdych, Caroline Wozniaki, Samantha Stosur and Sloan Stephens, the 2015 Citi Open Women's winner. From July 16-24, Citi Open, one of the premiere tennis events, takes place at t he Rock Creek Park Tennis Center in Washington, DC. Access AARP-discounted Citi Open tickets through by clicking the discount code: DCTennis. The AARP DC Citi Open discount ticket code can also be used by non-AARP members. The discount code is usable for matches that are played only on Saturday, July 16 through Thursday, July 21.
Onlookers danced and swayed with the beat of the drum band on the AARP float in the D.C. Capital Pride parade on Saturday, June 8 th. The parade was one of the highlights for AARP participants in DC Pride weekend. Cheering, onlookers stood four-deep along the sidewalks, in the heat, along the 19-block parade route around DuPont Circle, New Hampshire Avenue, and 17th and P streets.
AARP invites DC residents to join the fun of D.C. Capital Pride on Saturday and Sunday, June 8- 9, 2013. Displaying an AARP banner reading, “Celebrating Pride for All Generations,” the AARP team will build upon AARP’s inclusive brand in this diverse community through participation in both the Pride Parade on Saturday, June 8th, and the Pride Festival on Sunday, June 9th.
