Our national lawmakers are holding Town Halls around the state in the month of August. This is a great opportunity to talk with them about the issues of concern to you. These are the sessions we are aware of. If you hear of any others, please let us know at aarpwa@aarp.org and we'll add them to the list. AARP members Judith and Lee Piper have a special place in their heart and home for older dogs who may be sick, struggling at a shelter, or without a place to stay because their human companions are having difficulty. After several years of welcoming older dogs to their 5-acre property in Arlington, they stumbled onto an idea. Let’s recruit loving families that are willing and able to care for elder canines over 8 years old AND we’ll start a non-profit, Old Dog Haven, to raise money to help pay for any medical costs that might be needed.
The 2018 elections are some of the most important in our lifetimes. Issues like Medicare, Social Security, prescription drugs, family caregiving, age discrimination, and Medicaid are on the line.
Would you like to work for the Seahawks? AARP Washington, the Seattle Seahawks and CenturyLink Field are teaming up on a mission to fill hundreds of game-day and events jobs at Seahawks and Sounders FC games, major concerts and other events at CenturyLink Field and the WaMu Theater.
