Wynonna turned 50 on May 30 and to wish her a happy-happy, AARP installed chalk art drawings in downtown Nashville. A New York-based chalk artist rendered the drawings in person - one at the entrance to Tootsie's Orchid Lounge and the other in front of Bridgestone Arena (where the CMT Countdown is filmed). The drawings were completed a few days before Wynonna's birthday and left in place for the CMA Music Festival.
AARP is sending happy 50th birthday messages via chalk art to baby boomer celebrities who hit the big 5-0 this year, as part of their year-long Boomers@50+ initiative.
AARP is celebrating 2014 as "The Year of the Boomer", celebrating the influential generation as the last of the remarkable generation turns 50 by the end of 2014. This multi-platform initiative provides opportunities to reflect on how boomers have changed the world and to ask the question, “What’s next?”
