Grants to Fund Improvements in Wyoming communities

Two localities are becoming more livable because of AARP Community Challenge grants.

Using a roughly $10,000 grant, Jackson Hole officials will install at least three locally made benches at the Block, a 1.3-acre green space. Near an assisted living center, the Block will also get pathways through the property that comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act.

The Cokeville Senior Citizens Center will use its $25,000 grant to add ramps, replace crumbling concrete and build a new patio with no steps. The changes will help those with wheelchairs, walkers or canes to participate in outdoor activities.
