TeleTown Hall Calls Highlight Voter Engagement Work

After a busy primary election season that saw eight candidates for the nomination for both the Republican and Democratic nomination for governor, AARP Wyoming is developing the next steps in its Voter Engagement plan for the general election.

Highlighting the voter engagement work for AARP Wyoming will be a pair of TeleTown Halls in which AARP Wyoming members will have the opportunity to get to know the Republican and Democratic nominees for governor and their stance on issues important to those age 50 and over.

Wyoming’s Republican Nominee, State Treasurer Mark Gordon, has selected 3 p.m. on October 10 for his appearance on the TeleTown Hall. Wyoming’s Democratic Nominee, Mary Throne, will be available at 1 p.m. on Thursday, October 18 for a TeleTown Hall.

The TeleTown Hall format will have AARP dial out to a select number of its members half an hour ahead of the scheduled start time for the town halls. The candidates will then have the opportunity to take calls from AARP Wyoming members.

AARP Wyoming has also posted a video voter guide to its facebook page ( https://www.facebook.com/AARPWY/ ) of the Democratic and Republican nominees answering questions important to those age 50 and over. Topics include: retirement security, landline phone availability, access to telehealth, and more.
