Home- and community based services are cost-effective alternatives to nursing homes that save Connecticut  money, support independent living, and help family caregivers. And as studies have consistently shown, most people want to remain in their homes and communities as they age.

According to a brand new cost-effectiveness report, Connecticut can serve nearly three individuals in the community for every person served in a nursing home.

The report by Health Management Associates is called hma-fact-sheet-on-hcbs-in-ct-final.pdf.
