ACTION ALERT: Contact Your State Legislator to Urge Approval of Uniform Adult Guardianship!

MA_Guardianship

The Uniform Adult Guardianship and Protective Proceedings Jurisdiction Act (UAGPPJA), known as Senate Bill No. 2249, was passed by the Massachusetts Senate and has been referred to the House Committee on Ways and Means. There is only one week left before the end of the legislative session, and it is vital that this bill is passed before July 31.

Urgent! Ask your state representative to act on SB 2249. Contact your Massachusetts representative today!
If this bill passes, it would mean that those who provide care from a distance will no longer have to deal with potentially lengthy and expensive court proceedings. This would also apply to those who take care of their elderly relatives in another state, or live out of state and are trying to care for their loved ones in Massachusetts.

Time is running out and we need your help to ensure that this bill is passed by the House!

Please call your legislator today and urge him or her

Most other states in the nation have passed UAGPPJA — but not Massachusetts. We think it’s time for the Massachusetts legislature to act, and they need to hear from you because they have the power to get this Act passed before the legislative session ends on July 31.

Contact your representative today and let him or her know that you support Senate Bill No. 2249, and urge him or her to support this important piece of legislation.
