AARP has a goal to protect vulnerable adults and provide their caregivers with the tools necessary to make important decisions. When an older adult plans for the future, they often consider what would happen if they develop difficulty in making decisions. For instance, this might happen if they have a disease that is progressive and could affect their ability to think clearly.
AARP is now accepting applications for the 2019 Community Challenge grant program to fund “quick-action” projects that spark change in local communities. The grant program, which is now in its third year, is part of AARP’s nationwide Livable Communities initiative, which aims to make communities great places to live for everyone.
During the observance Veterans Day, we saw celebrations and ceremonies recognizing our country’s veterans. But AARP wants to also recognize the family caregivers of veterans with physical or mental ailments.
