Fraud against older adults has skyrocketed in recent years. In San Diego County alone, elder fraud resulted in roughly $97 million in losses in 2023, according to the FBI. The Elder Justice Task Force increases its efforts to fight back.
AARP California's Let’s Take it Outside program offers free virtual and in-person events to help participants learn about and explore outdoor public spaces in their communities.
In June, AARP awarded more than $155,000 in grants to 11 organizations across California, as a part of its nationwide annual funding campaign to enhance community living. Included are grants to help improve transit options.
