AARP is launching a nationwide movement, I Am A Caregiver. To many lawmakers, America’s millions of caregivers are invisible. Yet, these family caregivers hold up a broken long-term care system, which is why AARP is looking for your help.
AARP Kansas honors six individuals with a combined 60 years of service for their volunteerism, leadership, and advocacy. The organization presented the Annual Andrus Award and Kansas Volunteer Excellence Awards during a recent two-day volunteer recognition and training event.

Celebrate Social Security's 90th Anniversary with us!
AARP New York is planning 90 events across the state in the 90 days leading up to Social Security's 90th anniversary on Aug. 14. It comes amid growing concerns about the program's long-term funding challenges.
Texans — or anyone in the U.S. and abroad — can choose from a range of free classes every week that includes Nia, Zumba, tai chi, strength training, and balance and mobility.
More than 3.7 million Texans 65 and older depend on Social Security benefits for at least a portion of their income.
AARP Kentucky and its advocacy volunteers helped secure the passage of several new state laws this year.
AARP Indiana hired Ron Weatherford for a pilot Tai Chi session in March 2024, drawing more than 500 registrants. The classes went bi-monthly this year, with 200 to 300 attendees each time.

In August, AARP Tennessee will team up with Encore Creativity for Older Adults to launch Encore Nashville Rocks, a 15-week choral program culminating in a December concert accompanied by a live band.
