Discussion and film scheduled in Kansas City on September 12 in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month

“Honoring our Heritage. Building our Future.” is the theme for the 2015 Hispanic Heritage Month that begins on September 19 and runs through October 19 – so celebrate!
Hispanic Heritage Month goes back to 1968 and begins on the anniversary of independence of five Latin American countries: Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua. Mexico, Chile and Belize also celebrate their independence during this period.
In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, AARP will offer a special membership discount for up to 20% off membership dues for anyone who joins or renews September 10 through October 19 this year. Visit www.aarp.org/heritage and in Spanish at www.aarp.org/herencia for more details.
