A little bit of time makes a big difference. Join AARP Colorado and Serve Colorado for our "Book on into Reading" book drive to benefit the students of Rocky Mountain Elementary School in Clifton, CO. Our goal is to ensure that these children become successful readers by the end of third grade.

AARP Colorado volunteer Irene Martinez Jordan is being honored in Miami by Hispanicize, a national recognition of Americans of Hispanic descent who have made great strides in their fields to improve the lives of other Latinos.

AARP Colorado recognizes the contributions of the late Cesar Chavez with its sponsorship of a celebration and parade in his memory to be held March 28, 2015. The march will commence at Regis University at 10 a.m. and end in celebration at Cesar Chavez Park on West 41st Avenue at Tennyson Street in Denver. At 60 years old, Clifford Boxley has been driving veterans from his hometown of Lamar, Colorado to medical appoints in Denver, as well as La Junta and Pueblo for the past seven years. That dedication has earned him the AARP 2014 Andrus Award, the highest honor a volunteer can receive from AARP.

AARP welcomes Lorri Orwig to its eight-member Executive Council, which is AARP Colorado’s volunteer advisory committee that helps set AARP strategic priorities statewide.

AARP and Denver Public Library (DPL) are working together to select and identify 100 photos that depict the powerful events and people that reflect the Chicano movement in Colorado. The photographs will be digitized and accessible online through DPL’s Digital Collections.
