AARP Vermont honored volunteers at a Celebration of Service in South Burlington Oct. 17.
Jim Leddy received the Andrus Award for Community Service, recognizing his leadership as an AARP volunteer state president and advocate for health care reform. Also applauded at the event were volunteers who teach others how to drive safely, help taxpayers file their returns and lobby for legislation benefiting Vermonters age 50-plus.
“AARP volunteers are the lifeblood of our organization, each generously donating their time and expertise to improve the way we live, work and age,” said Greg Marchildon, AARP state director.
