Connect with Caregiving Resources in Iowa

If you’re among the more than 400,000 Iowans caring for an aging parent or loved one, you’re probably feeling the weight of the time, money and stress involved in this labor of love. At AARP, we understand what you may be feeling, so we want to help. Check out two of our upcoming events to help connect you with Caregiving resources.

AARP is proud to join with the Iowa Department on Aging and Aging Resources of Central Iowa to help caregivers connect with the tools, resources and local support by putting on the Iowa LifeSpan Respite Conference. The conference, held on Nov. 10 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., features a variety of topical sessions including the dynamics of family caregiving, guardianship/legal issues, and respite care resources. It will be held at the FFA Enrichment Center in Ankeny. Register here or by calling (515)-471-1951.

AARP is also proud to host Caregiver Wellness Day, by partnering with the Heritage Area Agency on Aging and other local partners. Caregiver Wellness Day is a day to connect Cedar Rapids area caregivers connect with the tools, resources and local support. This free conference features a variety of topical sessions including the dynamics of family caregiving, guardianship/legal issues, and respite care resources. Caregiver Wellness Day will be from 1 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Kirkwood Training and Outreach Services Center in Marion. Register here or call (319)-398-5559.
