AARP Connecticut’s legislative priority is to work with lawmakers on both sides of the aisle on policies and regulations that will keep more money in the pockets of residents and their families; address rising costs of utilities so all people have fair and affordable access to the necessary services; support family caregivers; strengthen protections around predatory lending practices; ensure prescription drug prices are reasonable, justified, and support improved consumer access and affordability; and help older adults live safely and independently in their communities and more.

AARP Connecticut will donate $3,000 on behalf of recipient to an eligible non-profit organization of their choosingNomination deadline is August 1AARP is now accepting nominations for its 2025 Connecticut Andrus Award for Community Service, an annual award honoring a 50+ volunteer in the state who is sharing their experience, talent, and skills to enrich the lives of their community members. The deadline to nominate an outstanding individual for AARP’s most prestigious volunteer award is August 1, 2025.
AARP Connecticut provides members with terrific year-round opportunities to save money and connect them with people and places in their community while supporting local, nonprofit educational and cultural venues.
AARP Connecticut hosts numerous events across a wide variety of topics in communities throughout the state every month. The events are open to the public, and while some require registration, others do not. AARP Connecticut’s “Fourth Fridays Free at Connecticut’s Beardsley Zoo” is almost back. It’s only two Fridays from today.
AARP Fraud Watch Network and the Connecticut Masters’ Games are providing a free seminar about how to protect yourself and your family from ID theft, scams, and fraud on Sunday, May 15, at 3 p.m. The seminar will be held at the New Britain High School Lecture Hall in New Britain, site of the 37th annual CT Masters’ Games Presented by UnitedHealthcare.
Every year, AARP honors an outstanding volunteer who is sharing their experience, talent, and skills to enrich the lives of their community members with the Andrus Award for Community Service. Do you know an extraordinary volunteer age 50 or older that should receive AARP’s most prestigious Connecticut volunteer award? The deadline is June 3 so you have exactly one month to nominate them.
