AARP Eye Center
AARP Connecticut and AARP Rhode Island have combined forces to offer the AARP Zero Isolation program, which began as a pilot in 2020.
The free virtual series pairs older adults with university students and teaches them how to build relationship skills, expand their social networks and learn about each other through group discussions and active listening strategies.
Trained AARP co-facilitators lead the the sessions.
Social isolation has taken a toll on older adults during the coronavirus pandemic. The program explains how social activity can affect brain health.
