AARP Connecticut praises state legislators on the passage of Senate Bill 976, An Act Concerning Conservatorship Accountability, on May 11, 2017. AARP Connecticut also congratulates the Probate Court Administrator for putting forward the proposal and engaging stakeholder support. The bill will improve Connecticut’s adult guardianship system and help protect vulnerable individuals from financial exploitation.

Financial strain of family caregiving hits low-income and Hispanic/Latino caregivers hardest

En el 2015, Connecticut se convirtió en uno de los 18 estados que apoyan a los cuidadores familiares con la ley CARE. Esta ley, que fue aprobada con apoyo bipartidario en la sesión legislativa del 2015, apoya a los 500,000 cuidadores familiares de Connecticut cuando sus seres queridos son hospitalizados y cuando regresan al hogar.

In 2015, Connecticut became one of 18 states to support family caregivers with the CARE Act. The law, which passed with bi-partisan support during the 2015 legislative session, supports the 500,000 family caregivers in Connecticut as their loved ones go into the hospital and as they transition home.
