AARP Connecticut will testify to members of the Connecticut Energy and Technology Committee on Tuesday, Feb. 7, on reasons the state legislature should not pass S.B 106, a bill providing special deals or subsidies to Dominion Resources for the Millstone Nuclear Power Station.
AARP Connecticut provided members of the Connecticut Transportation Committee with testimony in support for the concept outlined in Proposed H.B. 5390, an act concerning the right-of-way at a crosswalk, on Monday, Jan. 30, 2017.
Dominion Resources, the private energy company in Virginia that operates the Millstone Nuclear Power Station in Connecticut, has told our legislators that the plant is unprofitable. As a result, Dominion is seeking legislation to compensate for the losses. They claim the request is not for a ratepayer subsidy, but rather allow them to compete for state power contracts with Eversource and United Illuminating
