Fight Against Utility Rate Hikes Continue: Make Your Voice Heard!

Rate increases for utilities continue to be an issue around Maryland. The latest request involves Baltimore Gas and Electric (BGE), who has asked the Public Service Commission for an increase in rates and for a surcharge or "tracker" to make improvements to their infrastructure.  AARP is opposed to surcharges and trackers as a means for fixing infrastructure problems.

What do you think? Make your voice heard! Come out to one of the scheduled public hearings (listed below) and share your opinion. Interested in attending or need more information?  Contact Advocacy Director Tammy Bresnahan at tbresnahan@aarp.org.
