Florida Volunteers Do It Again!

Florida VOLTs and Florida Volunteers took the State by storm on their first All Florida Volunteer Quarterly Meeting in September. A very lively opening got the meeting off to a rousing start. State Director, Jeff Johnson and Manager of State Operations, Dionne Polite were well received featured speakers.  Breakout rooms gave all an opportunity to meet and greet fellow volunteers from across the state. To top it all off, everyone who attended received a certificate for a fresh pie. P.I.E. This was the meeting acronym for Plenty of Fun, great Information and Education. What a nice surprise that was!

Florida VOLTS have just announced the theme for the next quarterly meeting, "Let Your Light Shine", set for January 26th at 2pm.  We are delighted to have Mega Region Volunteer Director, Ken Thomas as our featured speaker. This promises to be another must attend Florida virtual event. 

VOLT stands for Volunteer Lead Trainer. The Mission of Florida VOLTs is to engage volunteers across state and offer support as Florida volunteers continue their great work in advocacy and community service.

According to Tye Hausheer, Lead for the Florida VOLTS, "Goals and Focus for 2022 will be to continue support of our fellow volunteers with exciting quarterly meetings, grow the speakers' bureau, welcome new volunteers and promote the use of the many resources offered in the volunteer portal. We are passionate about providing a platform for a unified AARP Florida that is a force to be reckoned with. Florida AARP Volunteers are a powerhouse!"
