From mammograms to lifestyle choices, 2025 offers vital ways to safeguard your future.
It’s been a decade since Macon-Bibb County became the nation’s first community designated “age friendly” in AARP’s Network of Age-Friendly States and Communities. Since then, 99 more cities, counties and communities in the Peach State have joined, pledging to become places that are welcoming and livable for people of all ages.
The celebration took place at Tattnall Square Park in Macon from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Today the AARP Network of Age-Friendly States & Communities welcomed the Coastal Regional Commission of Georgia (CRC) into the network during an in-person designation ceremony and Council Meeting.
The AARP Network of Age-Friendly States & Communities welcomed the City of Madison into the network during its City Council Public Meeting on Monday night. Madison joins 100 other communities in Georgia and over 700 across the nation that have committed to preparing for an aging population.
This week AARP Georgia announced the hiring of Nicole Emmett to serve in the role of Communications Manager. Emmett will assume responsibility for oversight of AARP messaging online as well as on social media.
