AARP Eye Center
With open enrollment beginning Oct. 1 for state residents seeking health insurance through a new online marketplace, AARP Hawaii is hosting a tele-town hall on Sept. 21 to inform members about the process.
State officials will discuss how to find and compare coverage through the Hawaii Health Connector as well as new Medicare benefits under the Affordable Care Act. Participants in the statewide telephone conference can listen and ask questions.
About 100,000 Hawaii residents—8 percent of the state’s population—lack health insurance. More than 200,000 Medicare beneficiaries live in the state.
The tele-town hall organizers will phone anyone who signs up to participate in the 9 a.m. conference call. To register your phone number, go to aarp.cvent.com/hihealthteletown.
