AARP Idaho and the Boise Veterans Affairs Medical Center are hosting a FREE veterans fraud prevention conference in Boise on August 27, 2018. The half day event is designed to give veterans the tools they need to identify and prevent becoming the victim of fraud. A recent AARP study shows veterans are frequently targeted by scam artists and victimized twice as often as the rest of the public.
AARP Idaho, in conjunction with the Boise Police Department, is hosting a free Consumer Fraud Workshop designed as a fun, educational and interactive event where participants learn to avoid today’s scams while getting the tools and resources they need to protect themselves.
Now that summer is here, scams across Idaho are starting to heat up. Here are some of the schemes con-artists are using and a few other things to be aware of.
