Join AARP Idaho and the Idaho Department of Insurance Senior Health Advisors in Caldwell, Idaho Falls, Pocatello and Post Falls to get your Medicare questions answered in person by the experts. You'll learn the basics of the Medicare program, who is eligible, what is covered, how your choice can impact financial security, and what resources are available. Gain insight into the Medicare program and how to best optimize your benefits.
This fall, AARP Idaho is encouraging Medicare beneficiaries to read their annual Notice of Change and to review their health and prescription drug plan options for 2017 during Medicare Open Enrollment (October 15 th – December 7 th). Given the trend in high prescription medication prices, consumers are advised to pay close attention to their Medicare Part D drug plan options to help save money.
AARP Idaho announced today that Lynn Young of Meridian was selected to receive the 2016 Andrus Award for Community Service, the Association’s most prestigious volunteer award. Each year AARP honors the legacy of AARP founder, Dr. Ethel Percy Andrus, with the AARP Andrus Award for Community Service. This award is a symbol of the power of individuals to make a difference in the lives of others. AARP Idaho state director Lupe Wissel will present the honor to Young at an upcoming ceremony in Boise.
AARP Idaho will host a telephone town hall on Monday, Oct. 24, at 11:30 a.m. to discuss timely health insurance issues that affect older Idahoans, such as Medicare open enrollment and Medicare fraud.
AARP Idaho is pleased to welcome Becky Young of Blackfoot, as the new state coordinator of the Driver Safety Program in Idaho. As state coordinator, Young will organize and oversee all of the volunteer driver safety instructors who teach courses in cities and towns across the Gem State.
Want to be part of something big in the Gem State? AARP Foundation is looking to expand its team of volunteers for the upcoming tax season by recruiting interested individuals. Tax-Aide is an AARP Foundation program that offers free tax filing help during the tax season. This program is available to anyone, young or old, AARP member or not.
New Knowledge Adventures offers affordable classes for adults who enjoy lifelong learning.
AARP Driver Safety (ADS) is seeking a highly qualified person to serve as the next State Coordinator for Idaho. The current State Coordinator, Roger Wheeler, has decided to retire from the position. This is an unpaid volunteer position. Any ADS volunteer or individual outside of the program is welcomed to apply. Please refer to the attached position description for additional information.
