Livable Communities

AARP Illinois today announced that two Illinois communities have been chosen as part of the 89 winners of the AARP Community Challenge, aiming to create change and improve quality of life at the community-level.
On June 12, 2017, Mayor Rahm Emanuel vowed to work alongside the Chicago Department of Transportation and other leading organizations to prevent and eliminate traffic-related deaths and serious injuries citywide by 2026. This initiative is Vision Zero Chicago.
AARP fights for the issues that matter most!
Moving forward with our Enough is Enough campaign mobilizing citizens across Illinois and encouraging them to hold elected officials – the Governor and the members of the General Assembly – accountable for the gridlock and demand they find long-term solutions and pass a budget that restores the fiscal health of our state.
Illinois State Director, Bob Gallo, was a guest on the November 10th segment of WCIU's "You and Me In the Morning" where he discussed Livable Communities and its impact on Chicago neighborhoods.
