Stop fraud by shredding!

If you live in the Springfield area, it's not too late to gather items for FREE shredding and digital recycling on Saturday, March 28! The shredding begins at 9 a.m. and will end at 1 p.m. at the Computer Recycling Center at 528 N. Prince Lane.

AARP in Missouri is teaming with CU Community Credit Union and the Computer Recycling Center in Springfield for a Fraud Prevention Day. "Individuals can help protect themselves from identity theft by safely recycling sensitive information on paper or on digital media like hard drives, laptop computers or cell phones," said Diane Hall, AARP Missouri associate state director for Community Outreach.

"For paper shredding you do not need to remove paper clips or staples from documents," Hall explained. The Computer Recycling Center also recycles other types of electronics, but fees apply for some items (CRT TVs/Monitors, Microwaves and Fluorescent Bulbs).

Don't forget to pack up the car with your disposables and join AARP, CU Community Credit Union and the Computer Recycling Center and take action to prevent fraud!
