Smokey Robinson, Chaka Khan, Anita Baker and other headliners are bringing their sweet sounds to the Jazz in the Gardens festival March 17-18.
The 13th annual Miami Gardens event will be held on the grounds of Hard Rock Stadium, 347 Don Shula Drive. AARP in Miami is a sponsor.
Gates open at 3 p.m. each day and performances begin at 4 p.m.
Fantasia, Tasha Cobbs Leonard and the Jazz in the Gardens All Stars will also perform during the festival, which features rhythm and blues, jazz, soul and gospel music.
The weekend will include food vendors, shopping and a Poetry in the Gardens spoken-word competition.
“The event was created and is produced by the city of Miami Gardens as a way to offer a first-class cultural entertainment experience for residents of the community,” said Suzan McDowell, CEO of Circle of One Marketing.
The two-day festival has grown into a popular event, last year drawing about 50,000 people each day, organizers said.
For information on tickets, go to aarp.org/miami. Advance general admission tickets are $96 for two days or $69 for one day. The cost is higher on the days of the show. Additional service fees may apply.
