Five Kentucky communities getting a boost to become more livable for residents of all ages.
The 2024 AARP Community Challenge grant program is currently open and accepting applications through Wednesday, March 6, at 5:00 p.m. ET / 2:00 p.m. PT. The Community Challenge grant program is part of the nationwide AARP Livable Communities initiative, which helps cities, towns, villages and rural areas become great places to live for residents of all ages.
When Stacie Noble saw the bounty of cucumbers produced by new raised garden beds at a senior center in Campton, in eastern Kentucky, an idea came to mind: pickle-making party.
AARP has given more than $25,000 in quick-action grants to improve livability in Danville, Louisville and Lexington.
