Helena, Mont., June 4, 2025 – AARP Montana is delighted to announce that its “How to Vote” animated video PSA series has been honored with a Gold Viddy Award, recognizing outstanding achievement in video and digital content creation. The Viddy Awards, administered by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP), celebrate excellence in video production, with over 2,700 entries from across the United States and 23 countries in the 2025 competition cycle.

This year marks the 90th anniversary of Social Security— a cornerstone of financial security in America. For nine decades, it has kept hundreds of millions of Americans out of poverty and given families across the country peace of mind and dignity in retirement.
“Older Montanans pay their fair share of taxes,” notes Tim Summers, AARP Montana state director.
AARP Montana announced ten organizations throughout the state will receive 2023 Community Challenge grants – part of the largest group of grantees to date with $3.6 million awarded among 310 organizations nationwide. Grantees will implement quick-action projects that help communities become even more livable in the long-term by improving public places; transportation; housing; diversity, equity and inclusion; digital access; and civic engagement, with an emphasis on the needs of adults age 50 and over.
AARP e-activists were key throughout the session, sending thousands of messages to lawmakers asking for their support on measures important to Montanans age 50 and over.

AARP Montana recently announced that it has donated $5,000 to the K9 Care Montana Wounded Warrior Service Dog Program – a non-profit organization based out of Philipsburg. The K9 Care Program is devoted to providing specially trained dogs, at no cost, to our nation’s Wounded Warriors.

AARP Montana and Montana State University Extension are offering a pair of free online workshops in May and June to help demystify the estate-planning process and simplify questions of personal legacy and distribution of property.
