AARP Nebraska’s team of Hastings volunteers is joining forces with Mary Lanning Healthcare to host a Care to Share mobility medical equipment drive on June 16. The drive will be held at Mary Lanning Healthcare, 715 North St. Joseph Avenue from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Ensuring that Nebraska’s rapidly growing 65-plus population is able to find the right care at the right time is a key part of preparing for the state’s future, an AARP spokesperson told the Health and Human Services Committee on Feb. 7.
Lincoln, Neb. — Ensuring that Nebraska’s rapidly growing 65-plus population is able to find the right care at the right time tops the list of issues that AARP will champion during the 2018 legislative session.
AARP is currently recruiting a volunteer Driver Safety State Coordinator for Nebraska. The Driver Safety State Coordinator recruits, manages, coaches, motivates and provides direction to other Driver Safety volunteers at the local level to facilitate state-wide growth.
Nebraskans who want to know how proposed changes in health care coverage could affect them are invited to a community conversation hosted by AARP in Omaha. The event will be Monday, Oct. 23, 6-8 p.m., at the Millard Branch Library, 13214 Westwood Lane.
