Today, AARP presented Senator Maggie Hassan with a 2017 “Champion for the 50+” Congressional Award for her legislative leadership during the first year of the 115 th Congress.
Senator Hassan received this recognition for working in a bipartisan manner on an important issue that will benefit the lives of the 50+, our families, and our communities.
More specifically, she received this award for her leadership in promoting access to audio technologies that improve the quality of life for millions of Americans.
AARP thanked Senator Hassan for her efforts on behalf of America's seniors. “We look forward to continuing to work with Senator Hassan on other issues of importance to those 50-plus, their families and future generations,” said AARP New Hampshire State Director Todd Fahey.
Other Members of Congress honored for their leadership for their bipartisan work on this issue include Representatives Kennedy (D-MA), Carter (R-GA), and Blackburn (R-TN) and Senators Warren (D-MA), Grassley (R-IA), and Isakson (R-GA).
