Step back in time with the Manchester Historical Association on June 10 at 10 am for this enlightening presentation.
People have settled on the banks of the Merrimack River for more than 11,000 years. They were drawn here by the Amoskeag Falls, a 54-foot drop in the Merrimack River and the abundant fishing that took place here. The most prominent group were the Abenaki, a group of Native Americans who spoke the Algonquin language and were part of the Penacook Tribe.
Join us at this free webinar as we uncover the history and legends of these Native people and why we call this place Amoskeag.
