AARP New Jersey endorses the efforts of all neighborhoods, cities, towns, and localities to make each and every New Jersey community a safe and inclusive place to live for people of all ages. This includes providing safe, walkable streets; age friendly housing and transportation options; access to needed services; and opportunities for residents to be active members of their communities. These initiatives are propelled by the reality that these resources, among many others, influence whether a person can remain in the community and for how long. Once in place, those resources enhance personal independence; allow residents to age in place; and foster residents' engagement in the community's civic, economic, and social life.
The president has signed into law an AARP-backed bill that requires the federal government to develop a strategy to support the 40 million Americans who care for a loved one.
It’s time for lawmakers to listen to their constituents. 72% of New Jersey residents are worried about the cost of electric bills going up and 75% say they are not interested in subsidizing already profitable nuclear power companies.
AARP reminds you to vote on Tuesday, November 7th. Besides the critical race for governor, all 120 seats in the state Assembly and Senate are on the ballot.
In order to help hardworking Americans protect their money AARP created the Fraud Watch Network; a free community resource for people of all ages to learn how to protect themselves against fraud and scams. Identity theft is a crime that can wreak havoc on an individual’s or a family’s personal finances, their financial security, and peace of mind. That’s why AARP NJ wants to help consumers fight back! With tools like our online nationwide scam tracking map; The Fraud Watch Network provides communities with up to date information about scams in your area and what to look out for.

At AARP, we believe Medicare is a deal with the American people that must not be broken. Thankfully, President Trump repeatedly said during his campaign that he would not allow changes to this popular program. “I am going to protect and save your Social Security and your Medicare,” he told voters. “You made a deal a long time ago”. Older voters are counting on Congress to follow the president’s lead and protect Medicare.
