AARP Long Island Presents - Bay Street Theater’s Sip & Sing

.

As part of our ongoing commitment in bringing to you fun and entertaining virtual events, AARP Long Island is proud to present a virtual sing along, Sip & Sing hosted by Bay Street Theater to bring you a fun, interactive and FREE sing along series, every Friday through December 18th, 2020.

The Sip & Sing is a complimentary series comprised of weekly performances by singers and performers that have graced the Bay Street Theater stage in the past 29 years.  Audiences will be able to sing along to Broadway show tunes, American favorites and Holiday classics. This will be another virtual opportunity for Long Islanders to celebrate the end of the week while staying safe and healthy within the comforts of your own home and perhaps see a familiar face or two!

We want you to stay motivated and healthy during these times. Did you know that music exercises the brain?  According to a new report from the AARP-founded Global Council on Brain Health (GCBH), it shows that music is a powerful vehicle to strengthen the brain! So if you are looking for some fun activities that will help your brain sing along to a few songs. Better yet, sing and dance. It may sound like a simple exercise, but it really is a full brain workout. That is because music stimulates many areas of the brain, including those responsible for memory, movement and mood. Music even gets different parts of the brain working together simultaneously.

All sing-a-longs will be an hour and a half long and start at 5pm sharp. This series is recommended for adults ages 18 plus!

Advanced registration is REQUIRED.  See the AARPNY event links below for more information.
