There are several good reasons to shred confidential documents, but there aren’t always many opportunities to do so. Fortunately, AARP’s Fraud Watch Network will shred them for free!
Throwing away un-shredded IDs, bank statements, voided checks, and credit card information gives criminals access to your identity, and the identities of your loved ones, employees, or customers. Save space and protect yourself. If you don’t have a shredder, come dispose of your old documents safely at one of AARP’s Operation Stop Scams events:
