This month we will honor and celebrate all those who have made a difference in the LGBT community and movement. AARP New York will post several video conversations with prominent members of the LGBT community. Stay tuned this month for a video message from New York City Council Speaker Corey Johnson, media personality Perez Hilton, and Tony-nominated actor and comedian Mario Cantone, among others.
We'll highlight the contributions and achievements made by organizations in their communities such SAGE NYC, Leslie-Lohman Museum of Gay and Lesbian Art in New York, NY, and The Audre Lorde Project, among many.
Also this month, view a Living History of the LGBT Movement powered by AARP. It’s a storytelling series honoring past, present and future heroes of the LGBT movement. To view the video, please click here
And watch My Aunties, a new animated short presented as part of the new StoryCorps animation season, Father Figures, where father figures and their children share the strength and wisdom that they draw from each other. Click here, to view video.
